HEALTH TiPS: What You Can Do
HEALTH TiPS are two sided 4"x 6" sheets that contain important information that patients need to know to manage their health.
HEALTH TiPS are developed at or below a fifth-grade reading level, in English and Spanish, and are designed specifically for the 90 million people who have difficulty understanding and acting on health information- nearly half of all American adults. The clinical content of HEALTH TiPS is evidence-based.
To date, approximately 16,000,000 sheets have been ordered by ACP members. The Foundation has been collecting physician feedback on the content and format of the HEALTH TiPS pads. Survey results have indicated a positive response from physicians who have put the pads into practice. 92% of the respondents indicated that they would personally be handing the HEALTH TiPS to their patients, and 75% indicated that other staff would also be distributing them to patients. 27% of the respondents stated that their patients referred to HEALTH TiPS in a subsequent visit.
